Slotted spring pins are cylindrical pins rolled from a strip of material with a slot to allow the pin to have some flexibility during insertion.
Spring pins, sometimes referred to as slotted pins, rolled pins or coiled rolled pins, are hollow, cylindrical tube-style press fit fasteners with chamfered ends. Rolled pins are used as locking devices, positioning points, anti-chafing surfaces, shafts, or sleeves for wiring. Usage is limited only by your imagination and technological capabilities. Slotted pins are also known as roll pins or spring pins.
Spring pins may also be used to join or locate components with pins inserted through concentric holes in the components. This approach can be used on parts of any shape, including shafts and plates.
Due to the chamfered end, the pins can be inserted easily into the hole with a hammer or using automatic placement. After insertion, the plus tolerance of the pins results in a vibration-proof seating.
316 stainless steel pins have the best corrosion resistance of our stainless steel pins, and are as strong as 18-8 stainless steel pins.
400 series stainless steel pins resist wear from abrasion and have some corrosion resistance.
420 stainless steel pins are as strong and wear resistant as steel, with the addition of corrosion resistance in wet environments.
